Finally, the origins of the impulse to act are revealed!

Debra Winger, who was nominated for an Oscar for "Terms of Endearment," really should thank the little people if she ever wins the trophy. "When I was 17, I was working as a troll at an amusement park in L.A.," the actress told Baird Jones at the "In My Country" premiere the other night. "I was getting changed into my troll costume in the back of a truck when the truck jolted forward and I fell out onto my head. I was in a coma for three days. When I came to, suddenly I just absolutely knew I had to become an actor."

We'd always suspected that blunt head trauma was to blame for the acting bug. Other causes still under investigation: a failure to make the cheerleading squad; a distant or turbulent relationship with one's father; a successful turn in a high school musical after a brutal beating by a second-string linebacker.
