The New York Times just announced two new features to the 'Metro' section: 'Ink,' and 'Lens.' According to the press release:

Like the existing features, Ink and Lens will be evocative of stories, scenes and happenings in and around the city. Ink will be an illustrated vignette, reported by the staff of The Times. Lens will feature photography of unique sights around town; its first appearance will feature the photographer Sylvia Plachy, formerly of the Unguided Tour column in The Village Voice.

Amazingly, Gawker has obtained the first cartoon to be featured in 'Ink.' It can be viewed exclusively after the jump. We think you'll agree, it successfully speaks directly to The Times' core audience.
