To serve the growing need for rewards programs catering to our community's taut-face crowd, enterprising pharmaceutical companies and plastic surgeons are introducing a frequent-injector card for Restylane and Botox enthusiasts. From the Wall Street Journal:

The latest "frequent-flier" plan comes from Medicis Pharmaceuticals Corp., maker of the anti-wrinkle skin filler Restylane . The pharmaceutical company has started an online rewards program to spur beauty-minded consumers to get regular treatments. The program, launched last month, is designed to encourage injections every six months by offering gifts that escalate in value with each subsequent appointment — adding up to $375 after the fourth follow-up visit.

Restylane , which generally costs $500-$750 per treatment, wears off after about six months. So Medicis says the program aims to keep customers on track to maintain their "corrected look."

"Price is a motivating factor, even in Beverly Hills," say Paul S. Nassif, a plastic surgeon in the tony Southern California town. He has been handing out Botox rewards cards to his patients for about 18 months. The cards have his name printed on the front. On the back, there are three blank lines for appointment dates, corresponding to discounts of $20, $40 and $50 after the second, third and fourth visits.

On the line for the fifth visit, the patient can opt for either a $100 discount or a "super-size" shot which smooths all wrinkles for a period of one year, but also paralyzes every muscle in the body. Wheel chair and adult-diaper service are offered with the super-size plan, but at an additional charge.
