Jon Friedman (whom, you may know, is a one of the good guys) looks at bloggers in his column today and wonders:

Do they have much influence?

Some do—but from where I sit, the rants of the vast majority of bloggers have about as much impact on the public's understanding of the daily news as the shrill eccentrics I encounter everyday on the subways in New York City.

Clearly bloggers have some influence, since Friedman bites—well, maybe gently gums—our subway joke from December:

Bloggers will be replaced by the next hot infotainment trendsetters: subway shouters: Radar immediately hires four subway shouters

And since that was our 'look ahead to 2005' post, our prediction is now that much closer to coming true. We bet Maer Roshan's handing out his business cards on the 9 train right now.
