Harvard Lampoon: Do Toothless Parodies Sell Magazines?
Women's Wear Daily reports—well, repurposes the press release—that The Harvard Lampoon will be creating a standalone spoof of Premiere:
Lampoon president Simon Rich son of Frank Rich, a columnist at The New York Times said in a statement on Thursday, Premiere is getting a bit too full of itself these days and it s time to take them down a peg or two.
We were sort of amazed by two facts in the above quote: Frank Rich has offspring (at Harvard, no less), and Premiere is still around.
Also, it's nice to see that the old sitcom junior writers factory still has some bite. Doing a parody of a magazine with its editor's approval (as they did for Entertainment Weekly 11 years ago): That's hardcore.
Now, where's our damn sitcom junior writing gig?
