Mid-Mesozoic period gossip columnist Cindy Adams ignores the biggest hacking story to hit gossip journalism since the Black Dahlia to sit down for a chat with New York's favorite disgraced former Police Commissioner (and almost sorta Bush appointee), Bernard Kerik.

Cindy bravely asked him how he got through his tough times:

"Wasn't easy to take. My brother said he didn't know I was this tough. One thing that helped me, I read no newspapers and didn't watch TV. What people report to you, no matter how bad, it's still somehow not as awful as seeing or hearing it yourself."

And people said he wasn't right for the Bush administration.

Also, it's a nice touch that Bernie talked in Cindy's own hard boiled idiom, the better for her to transcribe the interview.
