sat next to busta rhymes on a flight from dallas to jfk on sunday. he was seated in coach because there was only one seat left in first class. Busta had to give it to his body guard because he couldn't fit into the coach seats. Ended up getting in an altercation with his rapper friend (flip squad or something or other?) because he was talking VERY dirty to a lady he had courted on the plane. when i told him i could over hear his whole conversation (comeplete with "i'd like to stick my nine incher in you"), he got angry. He called busta over, only to draw more attention to the scene. i eventually got scared and apologized (hey, i'm a small white 19 year old girl...). busta then seemed more friendly but also seemed to think i like it "rough" and have "chains and whips and shit." it was a long flight.

On my way out of Gabriel's (60th between B'way and Columbus) on Friday night, I passed Conan O'Brien on his way in. I was wearing a big puffy winter hat with ear flaps, and when I said hi to him, Conan said, "How's it going? I like the hat!"

Eating a spectacular dinner at Craft (1/26), I saw Uma Thurman dining late into the night with Andre Balazs and two others. She was having a loud and intense conversation about her disdain for Bush. She handed the bathroom girl some kind of business card, who then showed it off to all of the remaining waiters.

I sat behind Anne Hathaway (from Princess Diaries fame) at Tortilla Flats last night. She was with some guy who looked like a cross between Zach Braff and Ray Romano. Unfortunately, she didn't participate in the "hula hoop for tequila" special (at least while i was there), but did dance in her seat and mouth all the words to Madonna's "Holiday". She was very pretty, and very very skinny.

Triple sighting at Angus McIndoe Wednesday night: a scholarly-looking John Lithgow dining with four male friends, tiny Christina Applegate wandering around waiting for a table, and most notably, Michael O'Keefe of "Caddyshack" fame. I could barely supress myself from shouting "Noonan!" to break his concentration from eating.

My boyfriend and I saw David Patrick Kelly, the great bottle clinking villian of The Warriors among other things, leaving Balthazar around midnight during the Saturday snowstorm. He was arm and arm with a beautiful redhead, quite younger and about half a foot taller than him. They looked really happy and cute though, so I persuaded my boyfriend not to sing the "warriors come out and plaaaaay" song at him!

Tara Reid showed up a bit early for the infamous private party downstairs at Butter tonite. She arrived at about 10 p.m. with several friends, looking a bit tipsy, but nonetheless she realized Have we come too early? No one is here yet. When one of her companions suggested they sit down and have dinner, since it was warm and cozy she replied I d rather eat at Burger King. Shortly after, they all left Butter, asking the hostess to save their table for an hour while they went across the street for a drink.

Passed America's favorite jovial black weatherman (Al Roker, of course) on Boerum Place in downtown Brooklyn this Sunday afternoon. The sidewalk sighting was enhanced and made to feel special/private by the fact that other life forms were absent from the street due to the previous day's snowfall and the sub-polar temps, which kept most sensible pedestrians inside, Al and I not being examples of this. He was dressed in a happy red ski coat and was escorting a young child (his own?).

Saw SNL's Rachel Dratch at Houston's on 26th and Park not too long ago. Talked to her for a few minutes (she's my current SNL fave!). She is actually tiny in person much thinner than she appears to be on TV. It's now quite apparent why everyone has an eating disorder. She was very attentive to what I was saying, sweet, and cute as a button! The people with her also seemed very pleased that I was so excited to meet her, makes me think she's not approached much which is quite a shame since she's fabulous!

Saw Danny Masterson (That 70s Show) dressed in camo pants and a puffy blue winter jacket last Thursday (1/20/05) at the Starbucks on Spring Street. He looked like he does on TV, but seemed a little too cool for his own good with a dorky group of hipsters all around him.

Saw Joshua Jackson (That's right, PACEY!) in Union Square with a younger girl (his sister?). He was chatting with some of the vendors there. Lookin' mighty fine!

Kyle MacLachlin at Strip House on E 12th for dinner on 1/25 with two women. One blonde one brunette. Friend says the blonde is his wife.

spotted 1/25 at the first bright eyes show at town hall: ben kweller sporting an overgrown hipster mop, devendra banhart making out with a pretty girl in the orchestra during bright eyes' set, helena christenson purchasing tilly and the wall merchandise, ebon moss-bachrach from porn and chicken and mona lisa smile with a girl i recognized — perhaps rachel mcadams from mean girls?

A little over a week ago I was in the vip area of Temple in midtown and saw none other than Broadway flopper and culture club diva Boy George with what looked like the Heatherette crew for DJ Skintight's set. As you could imagine he had on his trademark hat and glitter and was dancing with a very dragged out blonde.

Last night (1/25) while eating at Balthazar, I was seated next to a very loud table of 15 or so people. Sporting a handlebar moustache, a semi-familiar looking face, and a very slight gut was Academy Award nominee Morgan Spurlock, (Supersize Me) who was having some sort of engagement/nominee party. Everyone was screaming and vigorously toasting their champagne, some of which was being served on the house. I felt happy for the guy.

Albert Hammond, Jr. of the Strokes at the Living Room last night for the CD release party of The Pierces...whose lead singer (the blonde) was wearing a huge bling-bling ring, because as overheard at the bar by one of The Pierces' peeps, they are now engaged.

i saw mo rocca of vh1 fame at spice on 8th ave and 20th street Tuesday at lunchtime. he was sitting in the corner by himself, dressed casually in a grey washington university in st. louis hoody and baggy khakis. he looked pretty much as i expected, though as he walked out i noticed he had some grey flecks in his dark hair— guess he's older than i thought.

Saw Brian Huskey, one of the better talking heads populating "Best Week Ever", at the L train stop on 14th on Tuesday the 25th. He was talking to an Amazonian redheaded woman (girlfriend?) who made him look smaller than the usual "they look smaller than they do on TV" small. Tried to spy on what they were talking about but failed. I assume it was snarky.

ran into chris noth at the sunburnt cow on avenue c on wednesday night. I was there with friends for a tsunami benefit and to celebrate australia day. the minute he walked in, he was bombarded with women throwing themselves at him. it was a scary sight, especially when one surgically enhanced female tried to get his attention and he snubbed her. miss architectural wonder was NOT pleased. I was with a guy so I patently ignored him. maybe that s why he came up to me three times during the night. once to do a weird hand gesture/dance in front of me and twice to pull my hat down over my eyes and then smile and wink at me afterward. I felt like I was back in fourth grade and he was pulling my pigtails!
