While we're in a correcting and setting-the-record-straight kinda mood, another attendee of the Desperate Housewives media event offers another take on what went down:

Far be it from me to come to the defense of TV stars, but the description you have up of the Desperate Housewives at ABC's party last night doesn't jibe with what I witnessed.

I can't speak to what did or didn't happen on the red carpet. I do know, though, that Teri Hatcher said (and sounded like) she had a bad cold during their TCA session earlier in the day. So that might explain her absence. It just doesn't seem very divalike to say you're sick beforehand instead of letting your publicist do it two days later.

Inside the party, the other housewives seemed like they were being agreeable enough, posing for photos and doing interviews with some of the TV critics.

All that other stuff your previous tipster hypothesized might be true. But they seemed cool enough.
