Yesterday at 6:01PM, we received a strange press release in our inbox. (Well, strange since it wasn't about improving our stamina or naughty housewives in our area looking for fun.)

Here it is in all its press releas-y glory:

Courtney Peldon stabbed on the set of her new movie "Mortuary"
 What was supposed to be a staged fight on the set of the new Tobe Hooper horror film "Mortuary" with a prop knife, turned into a bloody mess for actress Coutney Peldon.

The prop man was supposed to have a prop knife that was dulled, however the co-star that fought with Courtney in the scene was accidentally given a real knife.

Sleazy, right? Some actress we'd never heard of gets hurt on the set of a movie we're probably never gonna see.

Who would write about something like that? Oh:

"Boston Public" star Courtney Peldon was stabbed yesterday on the set of her movie "Mortuary" during a fight scene. Her rep tells us a prop man accidentally gave her co-star, Tobe Hooper, a real knife. No immediate word on her condition.


Also, we may be wrong on this, but Tobe Hooper isn't Peldon's co-star, he's the director. (And the auteur behind The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and other horror films beloved by movie fans who live in their parents' basements the world over.)
