At 12:30 today (Sunday 1/15), I had brunch with a couple of friends at Elmo on 7th between 19th and 20th. We asked to sit in a booth in the corner but the waiter told us it was reserved. On our way out, we saw who got the corner booth: Janet Jackson. And, yes, both breasts were fully covered.

Saturday night (1/15) at Lure Fishbar saw Tommy Hilfiger looking like a very waspy grandpa. Two tables away sat John Varvatos wearing these extremely ugly pants that can only be described as tuxedo-jeans. Hailing a cab after dinner, I saw Leelee Sobieski outside the mercer hotel, walking right past the entrance and then saying "Oh wait, you guys, it's right here, duh". Nothing beats a Brown education.

On friday night I experienced the laws of decreasing celebrity status. Started @ 8:30, seeing Bill Clinton shopping @ Time Warner with 2 Secret Service men. Looked taller and thinner than I expected. Then @ Starlight @ midnight, Sam Champion was very sweet to two young ghetto girls who were in awe of his celeb status. Then saw John Norris going into the Cock @ 2:30. To top it all off, Tina Yothers was my cabdriver home (just kidding).

I am finally resorting to expressing my obsession with run-ins with the rich and ever so famous. I saw Robert DeNiro with his family (2 young sons and gorgeous wife Grace Hightower, his older kids, including Drea DeNiro, from his previous marriage, plenty of grandkids and other relatives) at a Salander O-Reilly Galleries opening. The paintings were by Robert but I, of course, was more interested in celebrity gazing. I am proud to say that I mustered the courage to introduce myself and he was very gracious and nice towards my obsessed little self. Also seen there was Tara Subkoff's waifish brother, Harvey Keitel, and Julian Schnabel.

I saw Anna Wintour on MLK day at the 5:40 showing of In Good Company at the theater on 3rd Ave and 11th street. She looked fabulous of course. Very thin and wearing black stiletto boots and a fitted plaid skirt. She was with her a teenage girl who I assume was her daughter. It occurred to me that she might have been a little too decked out for a late afternoon movie on a holiday, but I guess when you're the editor of Vogue you always have to be perfectly coiffed. The one time you go out in sweatpants and no lipstick someone will inevitably see you and then write in to gawker to tell everyone about it.

On Thursday, I saw a luminously low-key Sarah Jessica Parker lunching with a schlumpy balding man at City Bakery. She looked distinctive, not drop-dead gorgeous—-more unwashed college student than cover girl—-and far less giddy than in those GAP ads.

Double sighting. Walked through Central Park with a friend this morning to see the Christo set-up and around 8:45 we spotted Barry Diller walking south at a clip. He was wearing a suit and black overcoat. I must note he was not far from the Rambles.

i'm not sure which flight he was getting off of, but i spotted ja rule along with requisite group of hanger-ons, complete with louis vuitton luggage (to be honest that was what caught my eye first) at the us airways terminal at lagaurdia airport. he's way short, and was sneering, but had a great complexion and was sexy anyway.

Saw Kelly, the newest Trump peon and winner of the Apprentice, brunching at Artesenal on 32nd street with a dark/short haired woman and another couple. He was wearing a turtleneck, jeans, and some huge gawdy ring that I could see from my table a million feet away. He has a very large head, drank a lot of wine (it was noon, but hey, it's brunch anything goes) and sat around texting people on his cell phone long after the other couple had left. Sadly, no one approached him for the 2 hrs my friends and I were there. Maybe that's why he was waiting around, the poor man was waiting for someone to care.

saw SNL non-funnyman Seth Meyers jogging on 7th avenue in chelsea on 1/14. Spotted him around 18th street. wearing dk. blue fleece, light grey but *super* shiny running pants and a red sox cap. Met him about a year ago at an after-party - let's just saw i'm glad he kept running this time ... bc he's a huge, swarmy jackass.

Yesterday I had lunch at the Stage Restaurant, this homey Ukrainian counter joint on 2nd Avenue that's been there forever. To my left was Parker Posey, hiding under her hair, and her BF Ryan Adams. To my right was Paul Gellman from los Super Elegantes. Paul had a small but memorable part in indie creepout Chuck and Buck.

I spotted my girl Parker Posey walking north on 3rd at 11th. She had a hippie chick look with worn, loose-legged jeans and a multi-colored striped scarf, but the most notable thing was a big mane of tight reddish brown curls—shades of Melissa Manchester—which she shook out with her hands.

Saw Patricia Field shopping at Zara in Soho on Monday 1/17. If the famous red locks hadn't already given her away, it would have been impossible to miss her satin jacket with "Patricia Field" embroidered on the back. She was super friendly to the staff, who were making a slightly embarrassing scene tripping over themselves in order to accommodate her. I noticed she and her female companion were wearing Uggs which I think is totally acceptable given it was freezing out that day.

I saw Anne Hathaway Monday in the Magnolia Bakery turning down a cupcake. Why even go in there? No wonder she's lost all that weight. She was with a woman that could have been her mother and telling her how the line gets really long on the weekends.

Saw Howard Stern on the fifth floor of MoMA Sunday afternoon. My wife and I were looking out one of the windows overlooking 53rd in one of the galleries. He walked up and mutters, These people pay all this money to get in here and spend their time looking out the windows. Looked like he was with one of his daughters. He was wearing one of those, Hey-don t-look-at-the-tallest-celebrity-in-the-museum tomato-red-wool-caps. Shot two photos.

Obviously trying to keep a low profile, Alec Baldwin was walking west on 72nd Street between Columbus and Broadway around noon on Sunday. Everyone on the sidewalk recognized him but was leaving him alone... until one middle aged woman charged up with camera in hand. We couldn't hear the interaction but he apparently rejected her picture offer and kept walking.

Saw Alec Baldwin at the Sunday matinee of "Democracy." He entered the theatre with the rest of the masses, toting a Starbucks and a bag from the Athlete's Foot. He looked grizzled and distinguished.

just spotted lizzie grubman lunching at Fred's - she is so unattractive.

saw chris noth eating at my local diner, gracie mews, on 81st and 1st. he was with an older man and woman and was discussing jerry orbach's funeral.

i saw quentin tarantino at do hwa on carmine street this week. he was sitting with about 6 other women. he was (apparently) a little drunk after a long dinner b/c by the time we left, he was screaming something about a penis.

Quentin Taratino at the Delancey hitting on three not really attractive asian girls. He looks like the human version of a pumpkin.

I saw Quentin Tarantino last night (1/13) at The Delancey. He was there to see "Cheeseburger"— a great band. He walked in behind one of the bartenders I think, who led him to the back of the bar where he stayed. He seemed to be enjoying himself chatting it up with members of the band after they played. He was in all black, shorter than I imagined he would be and had his classic sneer... or maybe that's his face. I don't know. Good sighting though.

Joining the other thousands of stranded mo-fo's at LaGuardia was none other than Kevin Bacon! His flight delayed thanks to the stupid ass weather, he hung out in the Crown Room with a baseball cap on and the tightest jeans I've seen since 1983 - he's as skinny as an Olsen twin! He was also very polite, especially given that he was in a roomful of sweaty consultants drunk from the never-ending open bar who couldn't stop gaping at him ... quite a few kept chanting the Footloose song pissing my coworker and I off b/c we can't get "Now I gotta cut loose! Footloose!" out of our heads.

1/13, 3:30pm, talking on the phone before heading into a screening at Magno (49th/7th), who should walk out but none other than Donny Frickin' Osmond!!! or at least that's the reaction four seemingly Midwestern, vacationing women had as they drifted past me. The boldest one actually gathered the courage to approach him, and they shared a sweet exchange that most certainly made the woman's holiday. touching stuff.

marg helgenberger from csi—and i suppose much to her dismay project greenlight, right?—standing outside letterman, surrounded by a small crowd of photogs and adoring fans. she looked far less plastic surgery-ed than I imagined would be the case in real life, though she certainly still had them collagened lips. A nice new YSL bag in burgundy, fur-trimmed coat, black tux pants, heels. Her hair was a terrible red/blond combination, a sort of stripy dye job.

Was at PM last night . At our table was this greezy looking kid (like Jermaine Dupree greez) with about almost shoulder length greezed down hair . Turns out the kid was AJ Soprano [Robert Iler].

Last Wednesday (1/19) around 3:15 p.m., Fab Moretti and Nick Valensi of the Strokes were standing on the corner of 5th Avenue at 16th Street, talking to a slender blonde in a trenchcoat who seemed to be asking for directions. Fab, who was just about to light up, looked fabulous from the neck up but his bod was uber-skinny. His stick-frame was enhanced by super-tight, faded black jeans that looked like leggings. Nick, whose hair has gotten a lot longer, looked scrumptious from head to toe.

On Saturday I was nearly blind-sided by Ann from America's Next Top Model walking through the downtown Brooklyn Target. She had her mom with her and looked like she didn't want anyone to get near her.
