A reader writes in with a probably-all-too-true report of staffers settling in to their brightly-lit offices at the new Observer HQ. LampGate ensues:

apparently the lighing in the new Observer offices is BLINDING, so the reporters staged a revolt and all went out and bought desk lamps, and they keep shutting off the blinding overhead lights, so the offices are almost pitch black, looking like a dark German forest with little pools of firelight on each desk

Just as we suspected, some newspapers actually ARE assembled in pitch-dark conditions.
