Zuckerman And Epstein Finance 'Radar'?
So, let's reiterate what we've learned today: Maer Roshan's suffocatingly adored Radar magazine is back from the dead, thanks to a major financing deal. And thanks to a slow-moving Google cache, we're learning that Daily News owner Mort Zuckerman and Wall Street financier Jeffrey Epstein are behind the magazine's rebirth. We're betting one could look for the publication to be on stands at some point in 2005...but only God (if even) knows when, exactly.
Okay, rewind. Why do we care? Because every other minute, Radar is back. Then it's dead. Then it's back, and so on and so forth. It's maddening, really, but a lovely study in the art of preemptive buzz. Now, with the published Times article which, from what we can tell, was promptly removed, we're applauding the circus of confusion. Nothing with this magazine launch, death, or rebirth makes sense, and WE CAN'T LOOK AWAY. Kinda like the Britney Spears of publishing.
UPDATE (last one, we hope): The Times article (or, as we suspect, David Carr-sponsored press release) is back up. It's all official now, we guess.
