Attention all Wenner Media employees! We know you don't read your company emails, so we'll do it for you and remind you that, should you be so inclined, you can totally take the day off from your duties at Rolling Stone and US Weekly on November 2nd under the guise of "election day activities." You know, activities like getting hammered on Monday night and watching Dawson's Creek reruns all day on Tuesday:

Wenner Media LLC encourages all employees to participate in Election Day activities (e.g. volunteering to assist elderly voters, working for the Election Board, working for a GOTV (Get Out The Vote) effort, etc.). Any full-time employee, wishing to engage in these activities, will be given a paid day off on November 2, 2004 (not to be counted against their 2004 vacation day allotment).

To qualify for this benefit, employees must submit for approval, a detailed written request to the Human Resources Department, which includes a description of the activities, location and hours (without indicating political affiliation). To be considered for this benefit, your request must be received by the Human Resources Department no later than Friday, October 22, 2004.

Of course, the Company also encourages all employees to vote. If any employee is unable to make the time to vote, either before or after work, they should talk to their supervisor to determine a mutually agreeable time during the work day to vote. Wenner Media will provide these employees with the time needed to handle this important responsibility.
