Daily News columnists Rush and Molloy have a curious blurb today about Times Arts editor (and occasional New York contributor) Ariel Kaminer. Apparently, Kaminer's comments on a draft from National Book Award-winner Andrew Solomon were so kind that an email copy made it all the way to the gossip desks, thus prompting them to run an Ariel-Kaminer-Is-Super-Nice-type of item.

Now, we understand that Times Editor Kindess Shocker is definitely gossip-worthy, but we can't help feeling that this might be some sort of conspiracy bent on tarnishing Ariel's reputation. We bet somewhere right now she's trying to save face by chaining various freelancers to the Times' notorious Rack. You know, moreso than she usually does on Mondays.
