The Insider: Pat O'Brien May Be Most Annoying Person On Earth

The Insider, televised gossip-monger Pat O'Brien's Entertainment Tonight spin-off [Ed.note—ET spin-offs? We're getting in our time machine and killing ourselves ten years ago.], might be doing decent ratings numbers out of the gate, but its premiere left this reader, who's seen O'Brien in real-life action, unimpressed and skeeved:
So, I'm channel surfing last night and I come across the premiere episode of The Insider. Really, is Pat O'Brien the most annoying person on the earth?
Not only have I had the glorious experience of seeing him in action at numerous events and have witnessed first hand what a skeezball he is, he comes across as desperate on the show. He really wants to be pals with all of these people, and every photo he showed during the 'Shopping with Paris' segment (so in-depth!) was of him with his hand around Paris' waist, like they were a couple or something. No wonder he just ditched his wife. The camera work was so Blair Witch that I nearly got nauseous, though after viewing a segment with Steven Cocujaru and the chubby blonde from New York trying to do witty banter with Pat, it didn't take much.
Firing their "Shopping with Paris" bullet in the very first show might come back to haunt them. One can only hope O'Brien is saving his "Holding Tara Reid's Hair As She Dry Heaves" segment for sweeps.
