David Brooks: High Output From Low Emotional Stability
The Boston Globe talks to David Brooks, New York Times columnist and professional talking head, about how he manages to keep writing at such a fruitful pace. We always thought that super-productive writers were blowing rails off of their laptops, but maybe not:
So what is he taking? "Nothing chemical, it's mostly psychological," he explains. "I would explain my high productivity by my desperate loneliness and my pathetic sadness that causes me work to extreme lengths to fill the hollow void that is my life."
Aww. Will someone give David a hug? Anyone? Bueller?
