Defamer doesn't have 25 bucks to throw around in support of any "political causes" that don't involve certain illegitimate aspects of the Colombian economy, but at least one of his readers allocated his money differently at last Wednesday's comedy Concert For Kerry at the Hollywood Knitting Factory:

Last week, Hollywood liberals (not limousine liberals, the other type) gathered at the Knitting Factory for a night of laughs and mild rockin' out at a 25 bucks a pop fundraiser for John Kerry.

Looking lovely as always, Sarah Silverman worked the room with her usual "edgey" material—-the same old jokes get edgier everytime I hear them. Patton Oswalt had the crowd roaring with his jokes about the overall lameness of NPR programming—-there was no shortage of NPR listeners there to laugh at themselves. But the most political performance of the evening belonged to Brian Posehn, who did a radical routine about the time his puppy licked his wife "down there" while she was on the can. Take that, George W!

Lame jokes about even lamer NPR programming nothwithstanding, it sounds to us like Kerry's now got the both the comedian and the inadvertant bestiality vote locked up. Hollywood's concert ticket liberal activism does make a difference!
