Krucoff's Data Dump: Hot vs. Hott
Any editor can be a pretty face — uh, sort of — but we think it's better to be a pretty name in the papers. According to data boy Andrew Krucoff, using Nexis we can chart actual hotness in terms of cold, hard publicity.

And thus we find the only double winner with Mediabistro's hot or not survey: Rolling Stone dude Jann Wenner. All hail the Wenner. Give daddy what he wants.
METHODOLOGY: The data presented here was obtained from Nexis search results by name in "News, All (English, Full Text)" from 1/1/2000 to 6/18/2004. Some of the numbers had to be "massaged" since we are certain Adam Moss of New York Magazine did not die last month when the car he was travelling in crashed into a tree in Cheshire, as reported by the Liverpool Daily Echo. He is also not the Adam Moss of Kansas State University who got busted by the MPAA for downloading movies while participating in Internet Relay Chat. Actually, that Adam Moss lives in Manhattan, Kansas. Please get a more original name, Adam Mosses.
