1. So who the hell is this Graydon guy you won't shut up about?
Since July 1992, Graydon Carter has edited Vanity Fair. Formerly, he edited the New York Observer and, famously, Spy. He's — shh! — Canadian. He looks like a Dr. Seuss character.

2. Is this really such a scandal?
Uh, no.

3. So why is it such a big story?
Because, like the oompa-loompas before him, the power of editorship has gone to his head. Also, really, it's just his turn for a old school Manhattan take-down — but it doesn't help his case that the magazine is 50% fluffery these days.

4. So is he outta there?
Only if Si Newhouse has been looking for an excuse to sack him. So... maybe, actually!
