Krucoff's Data Dump: LES vs. Williamsburg on Craigslist
This week, Gawker resident statistician Andrew Krucoff (and his graphics helper, Chris Gage) take on the important issues: what does Craigslist teach us about the Lower East Side and Williamsburg?

The abstract:
While Quest claims to be "the neighborhood journal that vigorously chronicles New York's social swirl," we prefer to champion the neighborhoods that vigorously chug-a-lug New York's social swill, Rheingold. The Lower East Side and Williamsburg are our Hatfields vs McCoys with a feud that goes so far back in time that urban hipstorians have no frame of reference other than the "Pre-Electroclash" Era. A recent snapshot analysis of Craigslist search result frequencies for these two snatch-spots reveals at least one very important finding: it's time to move to Bay Ridge.
