Generation Y: Trend-Spotting For Idiots
Seriously, we all need to get into this "trend-spotting" scam. Susan Saurage-Altenloh, a Houston-based consultant, gets paid big bucks by pitiful companies to cough up trends in "the younger generation." Here's what she claims the kids today are into:
Generation X, born 1965 -1977: PCs and the Internet, e-mail, bars, bungee jumping, cable TV, Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise, Gap, and Madonna.
But contrast that with that crazy wacky Generation Y, born after 1978: They're into text messaging, raves, skateboarding, TiVo, Abercrombie & Fitch, reality TV, Ashton Kutcher, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Sweet Jesus. Here's a tip: the kids are into money, sex, and drugs. Now pay my ass a million dollars.
