Today's the official opening day for the Gansevoort Hotel, at 9th and 13th Street. How does it stack up with its neighbor, Soho House?

* Soho House's pool: 32 feet long. Gansevoort Hotel's pool: 45 feet long.
* Gansevoort's "breathtaking" views: 360 degrees, plus nice view of Soho House's roofdeck. Soho House's wraparound views: 270 degrees (but a nice view of people's hotel rooms!)
* Soho House Spa: It's like five square feet or something. Gansevoort Spa: 5,100 square feet.
* Gansevoort: 187 rooms, $325 to $3500. Soho House: 24 rooms, $200 to $875.
* Giving it the edge: the Gansevoort does not have an English chef.

[FYI, the hotel won't really be open until April 1st. The hotel is all clogged up with some art fair this weekend. Beware.]
