Before the NYT was even hitting the streets, it was already being reported that Cingular, not Vodafone, was gonna get AT&T — Reuters had it at a little before 4 a.m. At 10 a.m., the undoubtedly pissed-off Sorkin published a revised story on NYTimes.com. Meanwhile, Jeff Jarvis wonders "why an editor chose to put this speculative story on top of the front page" at all. Paging ombudsman Okrent!
