Joyce Wadler, Nature's Perfect Predator
The anonymous and admittedly alcoholic blogger TMFTML ventures into the nest of the world's bitterest gossip columnist:
"Photo-edit malfunction" was the term a New York Times spokesman used to explain why the paper bared Joyce Wadler s back on the front of the Sunday Styles section. Like "erectile dysfunction," a term used with alarming frequency in Bill Safire s office, it was a somewhat startling euphemism... Times readers were apparently put off by much of Sunday s paper, not just Ms. Wadler s exposed back. And one can understand the confusion. Does anyone who loves Alan Truscott s delightful bridge column enjoy reading about the hip-hop artist Ice Cube? He s a black guy, for Christ s sake: No white people want to read about angry black people.
