Former New Yorker fiction editor Bill Buford is rumored to have the vacant New York Times restaurant critic gig in the doggie bag.

Sadly, this job sure won't pay as well as the fiction gig at the New Yorker reportedly did back in his day. Even more sadly, with the Concorde out of service, the monthly roundtrip tickets it's rumored he received as a perk back then definitely won't be coming either.
