Caroline Miller: No Apologies
New York mag editor Caroline Miller enjoys a veritable kliegload of limelight in a very strangely toned New York Times Public Lives this morning. In the rather gendered tale, she is described as a broomstick, she punches the interviewer, tosses "her blond pageboy around," and puts her boots on the coffee table.
Of her magazines recent sale, Ms. Miller says that "[W]ith an infusion of capital, we'll be able to work on the gravitas." (The regular fluff, evidently, is produced for cheap.)
Now, just two weeks ago, Public Lives featured New York mag's eligible bachelorette Elizabeth "not pronounced like Britney" Spiers. I figure the inevitable conclusion of this trilogy is a Public Lives on new New York owner Bruce Wasserstein, I can title my post "The Return of the King" and then promptly retire.
