American Brandstand tracks all mentions of brand names in the Billboard top 20 singles chart. Now that the final chart of the year is up, some analysis:

Surprisingly, the most cited brand in the singles chart was Mercedes — with 112 mentions, it slaughters Lexus, Gucci, Cadillac, and Burberry, which round out the top 5. (Poor Prada down at #6!)

Winning the award for most brand-mentioning in the singles chart: Young Mr. 50-Cent. Ms. Lil' Kim followed closely.

All the way at the bottom of the list: with only one mention each, Cool Whip and McDonald's.
