Cue the Food Gimmick
Of all the names of New York restaurants taken from their addresses, One Little West 12 has perhaps the longest.
From today's Daily Candy: "This place has all the see-and-be-seen trappings of the Meatpacking scene circa 2003. Cue banquette seating in shades of chocolate (white, milk, and dark). Cue the naughty design motif: columns wrapped corset-style in red leather (very Gaultier for Piper-Heidsieck) and peekaboo staff uniforms by Versace. Cue the DJ booth, lounge-into-dining-room setup, cozy downstairs bar, and various dark corners for stilettoed patrons and the men who chase them (or vice versa)."
Peekaboo staff uniforms by Versace? It's like I've died and gone to hell finally! I'm sure they'll look cute with a hairnet.
Oh right, but what about the food? "Plates are for sharing and include a Celestial Platter of raw fish, which will set you back $90. The rest of the selections are organized into categories like Naked, Crave, Seed, and Wet. Cue the food gimmick." Wait, does this place moonlight as a sperm bank?
