An art exhibit in the lobby of the 4 Times Square Conde Nast headquarters was installed today and immediately removed: up at 2:30 p.m., it was taken down at 4:30 p.m. Reportedly, the artwork exhibited was a postmodern take on icons considered racist, such as Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben. The managing company of 4 Times Square was not forthcoming about the identity of the artist. (Speculation: Renee Cox?) The call for removal reportedly came from building management, not from Conde Nast.
