Blurb Blunder

The big hoo-ha in publishing this year was the mega-sale of blogger Salam Pax's book, a personal anonymous account from inside Iraq.
What a nice blurb on the front cover! Aren't you thinking, wow, Serpico author Peter Maas writes for Slate? From beyond the grave?
Of course, the blurb is actually from well-known journalist Peter Maass, who we imagine isn't too thrilled. The hideous misidentification first occurred on the British edition; we hear that although Mr. Maass informed the publisher of their mistake, the mistake was repeated on the original American version.
