Spiegelman's Big Guns
Violence! Violence! We're tickled about the upcoming bloodsports between the Post's Page Six guy Ian Spiegelman and New York Press's editor Jeff Koyen.
Backstory: as we all read in last week's Press's Best of New York issue, the (uncredited writer) named Spiegelman "Best Media Whore Over the Age of 25." Their story is that they did Spiegelman a favor by blasting a young writer, and in return Spiegelman provided a secret and uncredited item for the Press. Then the Press derides "the incestuous circle of dimbulbs who think they re contributing with their gossip pages and idiotic blogs" as "cowards and hypocrites" who don't "take responsibility for their actions." [Ed. Don't look at me: everything here is published with our names attached.]
This week, Spiegelman sends in a touching response to the Press. The Press is banned from Page Six until the "impotent little rag folds, which, judging by the desperate tone of your latest issue, will be mighty soon." His closer is the best, though: "I could kick the living shit out of both of you at the same time and you fucking know it, faggots. But I m going to do it one at a time, so I can enjoy it more. Wait for it, you little girls."
Sadly, nobody ever follows through on their threats these days. To do our part, we've got twenty bucks for Jeff and Ian to rent a room. In privacy they can start throwing punches or just get over it and fuck like they obviously want to.
