I have no real graphics skills, so we're basically incapable of doing charticles (chart + article = "charticle") for Gawker. Which is unfortunate, as charticles work well for people with no attention span who don't like to read, which is our primary demographic. As a result, I've decided to default to one of the magazine world's last great lame clichéslists. Lists as articles. Listicles. (I feel dirty even saying it.) Consider this my homage to sappy service journalism.

So without further adieu, the LISTICLE OF THE DAY: PLACES ON THE LOWER EAST SIDE WHERE ONE CAN EAT CUBAN GRILLED CORN WHILE WEARING A CASTRO CAP (SLOWLY REPLACING THE TRUCKER HAT), A THRIFT STORE CHE GUEVARA T-SHIRT, AND IF ONE SO CHOOSES TO "GO THERE" (AS THE OLD EXPRESSION GOES), DRINK A CUBA LIBRE.

1. CAFE HABANA. The crowd favorite. The annoyingly trendy. The best grilled corn (and with all that cheese and butter, the most likely to harden your arteries within five minutes of consumption.)
2. PALADAR. I rarely remember the food because I compulsively eat too many blue corn chips before it ever arrives. Good mojitos, though. (With sugarcane.) They, too, have grilled corn.
3. CAFE EL PORTAL. If you can get past the garden-hose green interior, the food's good and inexpensive. And oh, yes. They have grilled corn.

[Ed.This service journalism thing is a bit awkward on me. This will take some adjusting. In the meantime, comments are open for other recommendations.]
