Last week we reported that MTV Europe had banned certain videos from their playlist because they contained references to warin particular the System of a Down video, "Boom," directed by Michael Moore. Journalist Bill Werde followed up on the story for Rolling Stone in an article that didn't make it to publication. He reports on his blog that the decision to cut the video wasn't an issue of programming directors being concerned about content, but about the ad sales department being concerned that it would offend one of their major advertisersthe U.S. Army.
